Tastemade is seeking a Pricing Assistant to support our Advertising Sales and Finance teams. This individual will be responsible for pricing media deals, maintaining internal trackers and updating the sales CRM. This individual will need to enjoy working collaboratively as they will regularly partner with Sales, Account Management, Brand Strategy, Ad Operations, Finance, and Production. Given the interdepartmental scope of the role, progression can occur down multiple paths

What you’ll do:

  • Build and approve pricing for social & digital media plans, based on client priorities and company objectives
  • Clearly communicate  pricing position and implications to Sales and Brand Strategy in pre-sale process
  • Master the nuances of social platforms, ad products, and ad sales systems & technology
  • Identify and report on key pricing and pipeline metrics, weekly and monthly
  • Work closely with Ad Operations and Account Management to approve pricing implications and optimizations on post-sale deals
  • Help manage the sales CRM system (Boostr), doing ad hoc work & analysis and ensuring data accuracy

What you’ll bring:

  • 2 years history in a professional work environment; any experience with pricing, inventory, or the media industry a plus but not necessary
  • Proficiency in business English both written and verbal
  • Experience working across multiple timezones and interfacing with colleagues globally

What you’ll be doing: 

Management/Strategic Partnership: 

  • Partner with Sales Leadership to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve revenue targets and drive growth
  • Take ownership of creating a transparent process that allows all sellers and leadership to view sales activity at the click of a button 
  • Ownership of our CRM (Booster) including but not limited to; re-training and creating a standard in how the sales org is utilizing the tool, maximizing tool usage, identifying gaps in the tool and proposing solutions. 
  • Partner with the CFO and Sales leadership team to create process improvements to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Be able to look at market trends and provide insight and recommendations to leadership.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Tastemade's target markets, competitive landscape, and industry trends

Sales Analytics: 

  • Support our Sales analyst in maintaining  Sales performance reports and improve data quality and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Standardize the sales metrics and data we utilize to determine success within individual seller performance and across our sales verticals 
  • Analyze the performance of the sales team and strategize with the leadership team on ways to optimize performance 

Commission:

  • Learn and become an expert in our current commission and bonus structure 
  • Support the yearly commission process and cycle which includes organizing and creating a commission plan, ensuring letters are accurate, training and supporting the leadership team in the rollout of the commission plan, supporting revenue recognition efforts on a monthly basis and calculating quarterly commission payouts.  

Sales FP&A: 

  • Lead sales forecasting efforts and provide insights into pipeline and revenue trends
  • Lead Revenue forecasting
  • Lead margin forecasting and oversee the pricing team's efforts and own calculation of margin including content, tac (traffic acquisition costs) , taxes, agency fees, etc. 

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in a role where Revenue Operations or Sales Operations was a focus 
  • Strong written & verbal communication with the ability to express complex topics clearly & easily
  • Excellent attention to detail, follow-through, and resourcefulness
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business & product challenges
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills. 
  • Sales forecasting and/or financial modeling experience in MS Excel is required.
  • A track record of leveraging data for business impact. 
  • Experience in the digital advertising is a plus
  • Experience with sales CRM systems in general and can get acquainted quickly with specific ones quickly 
  • Experience implementing and rolling out a new software/system is a plus

How we’ll take care of you:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The pay range for this role in the US is between $155,000 and $185,000. The range listed is just one component of Tastemade’s total compensation package for employeesThe actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: candidate qualifications, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus or commission, equity, benefits, and/or other incentives.

An understanding of technical processes is needed for this role and an appreciation of the food and entertainment industry is desirable.

  • Assisting in managing the advertising ecosystem to ensure efficient end-to-end ad tech operations
  • Working with AdOps team to help set up, manage and optimize select CTV campaigns
  • Conducting regular system and product audits across various platforms for consistency
  • Brainstorming new and creative ideas to monetize and/or bring increase efficiency to our organization

What you’ll bring:

  • 2+ years of recent Ad Operations, or Ad Tech roles for an ad-supported publisher and/or video streaming service
  • 2+ years of recent experience with Server Side Ad Insertion (SSAI), Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI), SCTE-35, and ads.txt/app-ads.txt 
  • Familiarity with OTT/CTV technologies and vendors 
  • Strong knowledge of ad servers (GAM, Springserve, Publica, Freewheel, etc)
  • Comprehension and experience in trafficking digital video and other formats, including VAST and VPAID
  • Firm technical understanding in ad campaigns, digital video ingestion, and ad serving concepts (separation, frequency capping, blocking, beacons, audience, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of digital video supply chain - including supply side platforms (such as Magnite, SpotX, Freewheel), demand side platforms (such as The Trade Desk, Amobee, Beeswax), and data management/identity platforms (such as LiveRamp, TruOptik)
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while attending to day-to-day tasks and requests from our clients and partners (internal and external) 
  • Must demonstrate professional maturity with strong interpersonal skills in interacting with internal/external senior leaders
